Twin-spiring! Lyndsay and Leslie dish on Season 4 of 'Unsellable Houses' on HGTV

The dynamic duo of PNW real estate, twins Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis from HGTV's hit show "Unsellable Houses," have been turning homes into buyer magnets for quite some time now. To celebrate the Season 4 premiere of their show (that I can't stop binge-watching), I had a lively and insightful chat with the sisters about what to expect this season. They also shed light on their relationship, the real estate market, and their favorite places to visit around Snohomish.

Starting in Real Estate

It was 16 years ago that Lyndsay paved the way for their burgeoning empire and kicked off her real estate career in quaint Snohomish, Washington. She was driven by her passion for home design and the desire to own her business. Her twin sister Leslie later joined, transitioning from being a stay-at-home mom and dabbling in sales. Their unique blend of sibling synergy, skill and determination laid the foundation for an undeniably successful partnership and downright entertaining TV show filled with witty banter and fun renovations.

The Myth of Unsellable Houses

In Washington's current red-hot real estate market, you might wonder if there's such a thing as an unsellable house. At one point, just a few years ago, people were in bidding wars over homes they had never even seen in person. According to Lyndsay, it's not about being unsellable, but rather about not selling at top dollar. As Leslie adds, "It's all about making the right improvements to get the highest price for your property."

In today's seller's market, the twins specialize in making sure you're getting the most bang for your buck. "Things are flying off the shelf and buyers are having to really be diligent about being out there and looking, having a really good, strong agent working for them to be able to snag a property right now," said Lyndsay.

Marketing A Home

Scrolling through dream homes online is more than a way to kill time; it's become a vital aspect of navigating the housing market. For new buyers eager to step into the real estate game, Lyndsay and Leslie emphasize the importance of online browsing. High-quality photos, well-staged rooms, and immersive online tours are essential for attracting potential buyers.

Budget-Friendly Home Upgrades

That 1980s light fixture you've been hanging onto? Time to purge! When it comes to enhancing your home's appeal on a budget, the sisters recommend some simple yet impactful strategies. Lyndsay says, "Some of the easiest things that we suggest on a fairly regular basis are to paint and switch out old hardware and outdated light fixtures. Just updating those can make a dramatic difference in a home."

What's New This Season

The new season of "Unsellable Houses" promises even more drama and big reveals. Leslie exclaimed, "Our stress level is, like, through the roof with interest rates and the change in the market. I mean, you see a lot of vulnerability, you see a lot of stress. Homes are not selling overnight." This season offers viewers an authentic glimpse into the evolving real estate landscape. Expect massive transformations and surprises in some of their most significant projects to date.

The Joy of Helping Homeowners

What drives the sisters? Leslie beams, "I love when we meet somebody and they just feel hopeless, like they cannot, you know, sell their home. There's no option. They feel like they're just in too deep. And we are able to show them that their goals are achievable, and we're able to help them get into that home, get out of a financial position or move closer to family. That's just so rewarding. I think that's why we really got into this, is to be able to truly help people in ways that otherwise we just wouldn't have those opportunities."

Family Dynamics

Being sisters has its advantages. Lyndsay and Leslie admit that their bond and shared experiences bring an element of fun and support to their real estate endeavors. Lyndsay adds, "I think if we weren't doing it together all the time, we may have given up on real estate. It definitely helps that we're together and that we're having a blast while we're doing it. So it makes those hard days and those, you know, stressful situations a lot easier."

Exploring Snohomish

Before my chat with the lovely twins, I had the chance to visit and swoon over their Lamb & Co. Storefront in Snohomish. This an absolute must-visit for fans of the show and the sisters' distinct style.

While you're in the adorable Washington town of Snohomish, don't forget to check out some of Lyndsay and Leslie's local recommendations:
